The Mail Club is for any woman grieving the loss of someone loved.
Quite often when we are navigating loss, we are told to "be kind to ourselves," but no one ever actually explains how.
Until now...
Each month an inspirational activity will arrive through your letterbox. It cannot fix your grief or heal the pain, but it will provide a steady connection with a community of women experiencing loss just like you.
Whether you are feeling entirely alone in your grief, or you just want to receive something lovely through your front door that isn't a bill, a piece of administrative dread, or a harsh reminder of how much life has changed, Letters After Loss is here for you.

Six months before Paul died, I turned 50. We had a bucket list. We ate fish and chips in Whitby, went ten pin bowling, and took our last family holiday to Greece, a trip Paul had insisted he would hate and then never stopped talking about in hospital.
Three weeks after he was diagnosed with Cancer, he was gone.
I went from being a we to being a me overnight.
From a family of four to a family of three.
And I had absolutely no idea how to survive it.
Some days survival meant nothing more than remembering to feed my children. My daughter survived entire days on porridge. The grief was that consuming.
What I didn't expect was how lonely it would be. Not just the sadness, the loneliness. The way friends didn't know what to say. The way Paul slowly stopped coming up in conversation. The way I was expected to be getting better when I was still just getting through.
I was now the only responsible adult, in charge of everything. There was no-one coming to save me.
Every piece of post was either something that I had to deal with or a bill to pay...all a reminder that I was on my own.
My postman became someone that I dreaded seeing. He is such a nice man, but if he walked up my drive a panic would set in. A brown envelope would send me into a spiral of fear.
I started seeing a bereavement counsellor, not because of my postman anxiety, but because I feared that I was developing PTSD.
One phrase that was repeated over and over again, by my friends, by family, by my counsellor was 'to be kind to myself'. But no-one explained what that actually meant and they left me to figure that out, despite being consumed with grief.
I started having singing lessons, I built Lego, I painted, I learnt a new language, I did pottery.
Turns out that doing things that kept my mind and my hands busy was how I needed to be kind to myself
And that is how The Mail Club started.
Something lovely in the post to look forward to, that is just for you x

Absolutely. Letters After Loss is for women who have lost a spouse or life partner, whether you were married or not. I’m not technically a widow either, so please know you’re very welcome here.
Letters After Loss is a space for connection and companionship. It’s a place for those who have lost a partner.
Letters After Loss isn’t counselling or crisis support. It’s a space for connection through letters, not a place for therapy.
If you've selected the monthly subscription it's super easy to cancel, simply send an email to [email protected] so I can sort it all out for you.
