ABOUT

There’s something so special about a handwritten note. The joy of recognising familiar handwriting, the excitement as you begin to read a story.

Letters After Loss was created to connect women who have lost a spouse or partner through the exchange of handwritten letters.

Stories shared, letters sent, friendships made.

How it all started...

Letters After Loss was created with one wish: to not walk this journey alone.

When you lose your spouse or partner you are thrown into an entirely different world, one you didn't want to go to. Life changes, you change, yet the world keeps spinning just as it did before they died.

Friendships change, and new friendships form. You become part of the 'widow club', the club no-one wants to be in. But within this 'club' are the people who understand you the most. They know the pain of your loss as they feel it too, the know the loneliness as they feel it too, they know it all and you wish that they didn't. You wouldn't wish this on anyone.

But what if there was a way to bring a small glimmer into your life so that you didn't feel quite as alone?

Letters After Loss is that glimmer. A friendship formed through the simple exchange of handwritten letters.

Some fun facts about me...

Writing and walking have helped me through this journey. The muddier the walk the better!

I'm scared of bridges and would prefer a 100 mile diversion if it avoided driving over a bridge

One of the ways I kept my promise to Paul about not forgetting him was to have a Forget me Not bracelet tattoo done.

Whilst Paul was an avid Arsenal supporter I know nothing about football but one day I hope to go and watch Arsenal play
