LAUNCHING
Friends probably tell you that “you're so strong” or “time will heal”
But inside you just want to scream:
“Don’t you understand? I'm not, It won't!”
You long for people who get it.
Those who understand the silence, the tears, the moments of both aching love and crushing absence
You want to connect with people who understand all of this too. No explanations needed.
What starts as a handwritten letter from a stranger, can develop into a friendship found through loss.

FIND comfort and connection through shared words and CREATE quiet companionship, one letter at a time.
Letters After Loss is a gentle pen pal and writing membership for women who have lost a spouse or life partner.
It exists for those who miss having someone to write to and someone who understands without needing the story explained.

One of his fears was that he would be forgotten.
I promised that I never would. Hopefully he'll know that I kept my promise.
- CAROLINE
I know what it feels like to face unexpected loss
To wish there was a safe space to simply be without needing to explain
To find people who simply 'get it' too.
What started as a pen pal request on Facebook, has now turned into a letter writing community.
The daily post either consisted of yet another reminder that Paul wasn't here, or a bill that needed paying. Selfishly I wanted to receive something 'nice' in the post and connect with someone who knew exactly the worries and pain that I faced each day. So I posted on Facebook asking if anyone wanted to be my pen pal friend.
The excitement of receiving my first handwritten letter from my pen pal is a feeling that should be bottled up.
And you can have that feeling too.
